No Pain, No Retain! Tue 19th May 2015 11:55
I have an image of the evil child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the look of joy on all the children's faces when they were released from his wicked grasp! Whilst they may now be out of work there can't be many of Blackpool's ex-players who aren't secretly relieved that they won't have to return to Gloomfield Road next season.
Cardiff City 3 Blackpool 2 Sun 26th Apr 2015 08:21
When you have Peter Clarke as a loan striker, you know the time is up, the season can't end quick enough and records will be broken. Apparently it's 106 years since the last time Blackpool failed to win away from home in a season but the class of 2014/15 have matched that. One more game to go until this torturous affair is over and the fans get to pass judgement on the Chairman.
Blackpool 0 Fulham 1 Sun 19th Apr 2015 12:55
'Oyster Out' came the chants from both the Blackpool and Fulham fans and yet Lee Clark went about his business of losing games as if no one really cares anymore. 16 games without a win now for the manager who is taking the Seasiders down in spectacular fashion.
Derby 4 Blackpool 0 Wed 15th Apr 2015 17:49
Maybe as well that only 100 Blackpool fans witnessed this as there was little to cheer or shout about bar the final whistle. Just two and a half minutes to wonder 'is this the night?' before the first goal went in.
Ipswich 3 Blackpool 2 Sun 12th Apr 2015 13:45
Another away defeat and our colleagues at twtd.co.uk take up the story. Freddie Sears scored twice and Christophe Berra once as Town beat already-relegated Blackpool 3-2 at Portman Road. The Blues fell behind to Andrea Orlandi’s fourth-minute goal, prior to Sears striking twice before the break, then Henry Cameron levelled for Blackpool, but Berra sealed a win which really should have been more routine in the 83rd minute.
Ipswich v Blackpool Preview Fri 10th Apr 2015 17:12
If euthanasia was available in football, then Blackpool would be put out of their misery long before Saturday's trip to Portman Road. It is quite astonishing that the bookmakers are still edging their bets with odds on of 11/1 on an away win because anyone who puts money on that bet deserves at least ten times those odds. Imagine a 3 legged donkey going round the Grand National and that's Blackpool at Ipswich and don't expect the side to get anywhere near Beacher's Brook!
Blackpool v Reading Preview Tue 07th Apr 2015 13:10
A Dead Rubber, a Dead Duck, a Dead football club some would say but if you want a game with absolutely no meaning then the one tonight at Bloomfield Road provides it. Ridiculous it should have been moved in the first place from Bank Holiday Monday and now looks quite ridiculous that both teams needed rest before this game.
Birmingham v Blackpool Preview Wed 04th Mar 2015 12:28
This season there have been some players who have been so tragic, if things weren't so dire, we could have a laugh about. Many have described Saer Sene's debut at Bloomfield Road as a bit like 'Bambi on Ice' and the worst performance at the seaside since the Krankies were doing a summer season on the front. Somewhat unsurprisingly, since we have very little to play for at St Andrews, it looks as though our French striker might get a start at Birmingham! If Torville and Dean are in the Midlands they may well enjoy his performance more than the Seasiders fans do.
Blackpool 1 Brighton 0 Sat 31st Jan 2015 22:51
If Blackpool are to escape the drop then it could well be the cabbage patch pitch at Bloomfield Road which will be their saviour. Expect every visiting manager to use it as an excuse and hopefully the remaining nine managers to come to the seaside will all use it as an excuse for defeat. Having trained on it for the last few weeks, it does seem as though the players in tangerine adapted to the awful conditions today a lot better than their opponents from Brighton who looked second best for most of the game. The three points only takes the 'Pool back to where we were at the start of January but at least has kept Lee Clark's side in with the slimmest of opportunities to get out.
